It's a bit noisy, but it was spectacular in the flesh, full spate over the dam.

  1. Brilliant last time I was there was on the mountain bike and I rode up the valley at the end of the lake.

  2. When you get to the top of the reservoir you can go pretty much straight onto the tops up Cut Gate and over to Langsett. It's am out and back side, and the first bit is un-rideable up and bloody Hase down, but the rest is fantastic :-)

  3. Yep thats where I went. Actually the first bit up Cit Gate is not un-rideable if you go to the right via the stream because there is a switch back, which get past the initial OMG bit of rock and then you are on the damn steep with some steps but it is just about rideable not that I did it, I had a few touch downs but I did see a fella in front of me do it.

  4. That is the way I meant, lifting over the odd eroded water bar, pushing round the switchback=un-rideable (without dabs, for mere mortals) ;-) Cracking over the tops though isn't it. Real mix of terrain...

  5. Oh yeah I loved it. I actually did it after a stag night in Sheffied. Left my friends in the hotel, and left earlyish to do some riding. I didn't actually know it was a well known route, I just cycled up to the end of the lake and then thought where now. Bumped in to a few people cycling down who were giving me some verbal high fives which kept me going lol, jesus it was a thigh burner. Got to the top and it is like a rats nest going through a peat bog lol. Really cool riding there and then a good fast run on the way down.
