OK, so I have just started, have only 6 resonators, but have a couple of portals nearby that, after a bit of help from the only two XMPs I had, have decayed and are now unclaimed. Assuming I can get there first, can I claim them both, and link them, with only 6 resonators? Or do they both have to have 8 before they can be linked?
Distance isn't an issue, they are literally meters apart...
Oh, don't worry, next time I will just let them decay rather than have a go with an XMP, just wanted to play :-)
Both need 8 before you can link.
ReplyDeletePortals must have all 8 resonators on them before they can be linked. And you also need 1 key off of one of the portals.
ReplyDeleteThey need to have 8 resonators to link, but claim then, deposit your resonators, then hack them. If you stick around long enough to burn them out you might get enough resonators and the key to make a link.
ReplyDeleteCan hack each once every 5 minutes. up to maximum of 4 times in a four hours period. I'd put 3 on each and keep hacking till you get enough to fill them. Also ask others who may have some to help get your started.

ReplyDeletePlus one to David Manvell... Find a Google + community for your local resistance group and they'll probably be happy to load you up with level 1/2 gear. In my area we love to meet with new players and give them gear or power-level them so they're more capable.
