OK, so my commuter/hybrid thing also does duty as child hauler/trailer tower and stopping is a royal p.i.t.a. as I need a tree or something to lean on.

Anyone recommend a decent, sturdy stand that will cope with a trailer and/or single pannier. Maybe a bipod?

  1. Todd Steif yes, or a kickstand, or propstand, or bike stand, depending on who is making it or where you are in the world it seems. Any ideas?

  2. Hmmm, following some links from the M-wave one (thanks Tylor Gransbergen ) it seems lots of reviews suggest you are on to a loser if you want a stand to use fully loaded that is convenient for quick starts and stops... Bother...

  3. I have to admit, after a 4-day camping tour (with Tim Smith, David Crowell, and our friends Timothy and Ian who I don't think are members of this community) last year, I decided that a kickstand is an essential accessory for loaded touring (for credit-card touring and commuting, YMMV; when I finally make a flat-bar city bike happen, it will definitely have a center-stand for grocery-getting!).

Every time we stopped for lunch, I realized it would be nice not to have to search for a spot to lean the bike; every time we made camp, I wished I had a kickstand so I could stand my bike up where I was setting up my tent.  Would've made things so much more convenient!
