So I get the knee pads, ready for my training on Saturday with Great Rock

So I get the knee pads, ready for my training on Saturday with Great Rock
Really ought to go for a bit of a ride, just to make sure they will stay comfy after a bit of a ride, makes sense so far?
OK, so maybe going out at twilight, without lights, wasn't the best idea. Looking at the scenery rather than where I am going through the darkening twilight resulted in a slow, but hard OTB moment.
The recent wet weather has resulted in some vicious brambles and nettles as well, that are almost invisible in the dark. Mild ouch and tingle, and thoughts of kneepads versus kneepads with shin pads... maybe next time.

  1. Ouch, I find when I put protection on I have more accidents ... errr maybe I should ref-raze that lol.

I went out without wearing a helmet tonight, never done that before. Got a mile away from home and then realised I'd forgot to put it on. Felt almost naked for the rest of the ride!

  2. Yea, Volvo syndrome, more protection, become invincible, ride more like a loon! When I have ridden with a trailer with our baby in I have ridden without a helmet deliberately, kind of forced myself to be more aware and thoughtful in what I was doing. On that basis, knee pads might just kill me! :-)

  4. Reminded me that I should carry my spare mech hanger though. Didn't need it but that was more luck than anything...

  6. I think you meant riding in to those peaks... Mark Gorman And it really was a very little peak, or hole, one or the other, it was too dark to see, even after I picked myself up really :-) Got a couple of proper aches though.
